Beauty Tips For Women Working Long Hours
By Maria Markella

If you are a married with kids, hardworking lady then you know you only got little time and energy to focus on looking sexy and applying that eye make up. So you have to wake up in the morning and transform to that professional looking female before you go to work. Here are some quick tips to refresh your look when there's little time left.

[ Beauty Tip ] Make those blemishes and dark spots disappear. Those dark circles under your eyes and those blemishes must be covered either with some cover up, make-up powder or concealer stick. It should take you about two minutes (2') to treat all problem areas on your face.

[ Beauty Tip ] Use of eye make-up. You can quickly apply mascara to your lashes to bring out your eyes in just one minute. If you have a few spare seconds you can also apply some eye shadow to further improve your look.

[ Beauty Tip ] Lip-gloss on your lips. Lip-gloss works wonders. Quickly apply some flavored lip gloss and stay assured that it will make the difference. You can always apply lipstick instead of lip-gloss or you can apply them both but generally lip-gloss can be applied quicker.

[ Beauty Tip ] Use of magic pins. Always have a few pins and clips handy. You could transform your hair and the way you look in 30 seconds, top. For example you could twist your hair up and pin it back.

[ Beauty Tip ] Hairspray and gel. Sometimes you need chemical intervention over your hair in order to avoid fly aways. Spray gels or hairsprays may become handy in such situations and can be applied in just seconds.

[ Beauty Tip ] Smell good. Use your favorite perfume or a body spray. Just a few sprays and you are finished in no time.

I know that when you are a hardworking woman who has a family to look after and husband to take care of, the last thing on your mind is make-up. But if you decide to go for all of the tips above then you only need 5-10 minutes. You could be looking fresh and sexy in no time. Good Luck!

Power Driven Women -

Five Forms of Power for Women Who Mean Business!
By Krista Bloom

For women in business, there is a difference between being taken seriously and being overbearing. People can at times be intimidated by a woman of power and influence, also known as a woman who means business! However, more and more women are succeeding at being powerful in business, politics, and the community. If we use our power wisely, and surround ourselves with other successful people who support us, then being powerful can be a positive and great experience for us and those around us. It can also boost our success. Here are 5 different power forms that you can evaluate and leverage for yourself:

1. Personal Power: Personal power is first and foremost for each of us, as it starts and ends inside of us, and benefits us and those around us. This form of power speaks to your own personal vision for yourself. It encompasses who you are as a person, with all of your natural talents, gifts and passions. Having a sense of personal power means connecting with yourself, being true to who you are as a person, and knowing what your strengths are. Here are some questions to ask yourself about personal power: Do you value yourself and matter to you? What are your #1 gifts and talents? How can you make a difference to yourself and in the world?

2. Professional Power: Professional Power speaks to the professions each of us has chosen. You can be most effective in your profession if you truly connect with how you are spending your work life. It’s about the meaning as well as the money. It’s about doing what you love to do as a result of who you are as a person. It’s about contributing, offering a product or service that you can speak of with enthusiasm, passion, and joy. It’s also about associating with others in the profession, to upgrade the profession, to belong to professional organizations. It’s about always learning and training to be the most effective professional you can be. It’s about not compromising your beliefs or ethics to make a buck. It’s about letting who you are and what you do seep out of your pores.

3. Financial Power: Financial Power speaks to your relationship with money, your ability to earn what you deserve and spend consciously. Financial power comes from an attitude of choice and abundance rather than deprivation. The financially powerful woman looks for multiple streams of income, spends within her means, and also plans/invests for the future so that she can feel secure and abundant at all times. How would you rate your financial health on a scale of 1 to 10? Do you feel financially powerful? What is one thing you need to change about your financial picture starting today?

4. Network Power: Networking is an incredibly powerful way to get your message out in the community. If you focus on connecting with other people, and have an attitude of service, mutuality, and prosperity, you can reap huge benefits as well as benefiting others. There are social networks, business networks, political networks, community networks, and many other types of networks you can participate in and access. Since time is always limited, you need to be very SELECTIVE about who you network with. It is easy to get caught up in drama, gossip, and defeating networks of people who do not take care of themselves or help others to prosper. Instead, you can collaborate and everyone wins! Think about your #1 social, business, and community networks. Are they working with and for you? Are you more of a giver, a taker, or a mutual-minded person?

5. Global Power: Global power is the ability to be aware of the large and small world we live in, to see the big picture of life and where we can fit into the global community. People with global power tend to be aware of world events, larger systems, cultures, communities, as well as their own internal and family world. Some questions to ask yourself: Are you aware of what is happening in your world and the world beyond? Are you educating yourself about technology, and how it can work for you? Do you access and research your areas of interest and expertise to keep yourself updated?

If you continue to think about how your power and how it can work for you and others, you might be amazed by the results. Once you are comfortable with yourself, and look to collaborate with others, you can get so much accomplished, personally and in business. All success starts with being who you are and owning your power to create, to be effective, and to ultimately inspire yourself and others to be their best.

Hopefully, you have learned a bit about forms of power that you can tap into. Perhaps you have asked yourself some hard questions and have some work to do! That's ok! Success is a journey, not a destination. If you find you are stuck, it can be very beneficial to work with a mentor or coach in this process. Embrace your power, for it is inside of you, and it is about you. As long as you are using it to improve your quality of life, it is a very useful tool. Power, along with the other tools in your toolbox is much less scary and more user friendly once you learn how to use it.

Coolest Baby Shower Games

Coolest Baby Shower Games - Where to Find Them!
By Kelly Jezek

So you want to have an exciting baby shower? How many times have you been to a baby shower where the shower games made you feel foolish or were impossible to win? There are web sites you can go to and find the coolest baby shower games around; ones where you don’t have to have your photo taken wearing a humiliating baby bonnet nor do you have to make fifty words out of the word pacifier in one minute.

Good baby shower games aren’t hard to find and have progressed beyond the days of “guess how many diaper pins are in the jar”. If you can spend a little bit on it, there are sites where you can purchase baby shower kits, some of which include quite a few games for baby showers including Baby Bingo, a twist on the original game or Baby Trivia where guests compete to see who can correctly answer the most questions about babies. These kits usually include invitations you can print out along with other baby shower needs.

Many people use games that simply aren’t fun instead of games that will help guests who may have never met mingle like old friends. The coolest baby shower games for that purpose are ones that make people laugh. People tend to want a good chuckle while playing baby shower games along with more sophistication than in days of old.

Steer away from baby shower games that could embarrass your guests or that physically tax them leaving them too tired to give the mom to be that attention she deserves. To leave everyone thinking yours was the best baby shower ever, use the coolest baby shower games. That will be remembered long after they forget about that awful pink punch you served.

Coolest Flat Panel TV's

The Technology Behind the Coolest Flat Panel TVs Today
By Dakota Caudilla

It’s hard to deny the fact that plasma TVs offer the best quality picture ever since the tube is introduced to mankind!! The crystal-clear quality of Plasma TVs makes it popular with consumers even when the price was really quite ludicrous. But now, with the skyrocketing demand for Plasma TVs, Plasma TVs has become more affordable. Encouraged by the receptiveness of consumers, TV manufacturers relies on amazing technology to come up with super-thin Plasma TV designs that can be mounted right on the wall! This will definitely satisfy the need of ANY couch potato.

As a consumer, you probably are not too interested in the in-depth information about how Plasma TVs are created, designed and manufactured. But we think you might want to know a little bit more about the technology of how manufacturers manage to make Plasma TV so thin and crystal clear. True enough, the picture on the Plasma TV is probably only thing that matters to the kids when they watch their favorite program on the brand new Plasma TV in the living room, but don’t you feel a tad curious about how come Plasma TVs can be so slender and yet provide such amazingly stunning visuals?

Within the thin casing of the Plasma TV, there are hundreds of thousands of tiny plasma-filled chambers. Depending on the quality of the Plasma TV, the number of plasma-filled chambers depends on the quality (and pricing of the Plasma TV). The higher the number of plasma-filled chambers there are, the better the quality, the higher the price. Makes sense?

And when you switch the Plasma TV on, electricity runs through and lights up the Plasma-filled chambers in the TV and the result is the picture that you see on your TV screen.

We all know that Plasma TVs give the most realistic pictures compared to the conventional TV. The picture from a Plasma TV is more focused. Plasma TV manufacturers and designers design Plasma TVs in such a way that it is so thin that you can literally place it anywhere! They are sometimes no more than 4” thick. And because Plasma TVs can display up to 68 BILLION colors, you can get nothing less than a realistic picture on the screen!! On top of that, some Plasma TVs can be mounted on the wall saving you space in your living room.

SEO for Coolness - Just Do it!

How to Be the Coolest Dude in the Universe When it comes to SEO?
By Alan Kirchain

One day you're the coolest dude in the universe and you're at the top
of the search engines, and then one day you're not. For the longest
time you could just type in your search phrase and there you were, but
not now. So what happened? How did you go from hero to zero?

Unfortunately, this may be your position as of late. Maybe you have
been demoted to a lesser position in the search engines. Actually you
may not be in the search engine results at all.

The sad truth of the matter is that if you're not being recognized by
the major search engines within the top 20 to 30 results maximum, then
there's something wrong in the space-time continuum and the situation
needs immediate attention.

All however is not lost, and a demotion can be changed and you can
once again be back on top with a small amount of effort and proper
strategy. Allowing you to recapture the favor of the major search
engines again, and be the coolest dude in the universe.

Your strategy will need to be multifaceted. First if you don't
already have a blog then get one. If you have one, update it and
include some links to your site. Second, bump up the incoming links
to your site from other closely related or theme sites. Third write
articles that cover different subjects within your niche. This simple
yet effective process is what it takes to rank in the search engines.

One thing to keep in mind is there must be some accountability.
After all how can you make any headway if you can't prove what you're
doing is working. The simplest way is to wait for a few weeks and
then do a search in one of the major engines. If you find your
business or personal page there in the results then what you're doing
is right and you should keep going. The bottom line is that there
really isn't a reason why this simple strategy to ranking should not
work.

In order to get maximum results you'll need to do maximum effort. If
you aren't getting the results you want you may need to do more
articles or you may need to do more inbound links. Either way you'll
need to test to see what works best.

Finally, this lesson in search engine optimization is a simple one
that can be applied to just about any web site. Having low
competition search terms or phrases is a major key as well as having a
good linking structure. It is by no accident that when you find
yourself and for the most part any other web site at the top of the
search results it has been done in a strategic and purposeful way. If
you follow and implement these simple strategies you to can be the
coolest dude in the universe.

Alan Kirchain is the self proclaimed
Coolest Dude in the Universe.
He has

been working online since 2004 and has been successful in promoting several

sites to the top of the search engine listings. If you would like to find out

how to get your website in the top 10 of search listings check out the

Coolest Woman on the Planet

Coolest Woman on The Planet: Five Simple Steps
By Jan Verhoeff

I got an email today from Brad Callen. Whether you know who he is or not – doesn’t really matter; name-dropping isn’t my style. I’ve got better things to do. His email was about creating a new image, making that image sell, and promoting the image over the Internet. The purpose being to create a brand, market the brand, and promote it to sufficiency. His Brand "Coolest Guy on the Planet" works. If you look it up online, it's being promoted left and right with new contendants vying for the title.

Finding a title, promoting it, and building it to effective acceptance world wide isn’t difficult with the Internet and current publication rates. It wasn’t a far reach to figure out the next step and create the coolest woman on the planet image At the top of the heap looking out past the rest of the world and wondering why anyone would really want to sit there looking at bad hair partings – seems the place everyone wants to be?

Now – to be honest Brad’s anti-thesis to the world is managing to top all the search engine optimizers and acquire a title, while self-proclaiming his fame. Earning his right to that title was as simple as making his site first on the Search Engine when you search for “Wall Tapestries” – plop right there he is, top of the heap, looking out on bad hair partings. I suppose it’s one step further up than delving into low hanging britches, but who really cares? When he points out that his ranking is also first for “Coolest guy on the planet” my piddly brain went to work and said, “Folks who make that search will make one more and I can determine the results of their search. Because ultimately – my purpose is to create Dynamic Content for the Internet while making a few bucks a day, sharing great wisdom, insights, and attributes – all through the production of great content online.”

So, while Brad Callen may well be the coolest guy on the planet, he’s got the wrong body parts to fill the other side of that coin. Coolest Woman on the Internet must be female. Other titles, earned through the effectiveness of brand formation and development are available; what's your title goal? What label do you want to wear?

In Five simple steps, here’s how the brand gets started:

1. Proclaimed the title with an irresistible smile.

2. Determined to match wits with the coolest guy on the planet.

3. Wrote this article and posted it to http://www.ezinearticles.com.

4. Developed a message worthy of being read – with valuable insight to personal branding and marketing

5. Sent out an email and a few messages on some favorite sites inviting folks to view the “Coolest Woman on the Planet” with a link to blogs promoting the plan.

And that’s how it all happened.

Your mission is quite clear. You’ve read the article, probably laughed your way through it – it is rather silly to think anyone could presume such a title and have any credibility at all. Branding is a promotional ideology of marketing. Now, you’ll just have to visit the link and see if you agree? I believe it works – http://janverhoeffonline.blogspot.com

Less Busy - Business of Existence

Is Busy A Good Thing? Here's How To Eliminate It
By Dan Ohler

"Dan, you've been in the office since early this morning, do you want to go for a walk?"
"I’d love to but I'm too busy."

"I've got supper ready. Can you stop for a few minutes to eat with me?"
"Thanks Carol but, I'd better not. I'm too busy."

"Dan, it's 11:30. Are you going to quit for the day and get some rest?"
"I'm busy right now. I'll finish this first."

Busy. Do you use that word?

It seems that many people choose to wear the "busy" word as a badge of honour, as if it indicates productiveness, worthiness, and success.

My perception is that the "busy" word is the curse of the new millennium.

"Busy" is a thought-choice. When we verbalize the thought by saying, "I am busy," it reaffirms the thought, magnifies it in our mind, and proves to us that we are busy. "Busy" creates physiological reactions in our body. Our muscles become tense; we lose focus, become irritable, and may experience anger. "Busy" causes great stress and the result is the common cold, headaches, heartaches, and dis-ease.

Common Cold

I’m not talking about the sniffles and coughing. The common cold I refer to is our habitual lack of attention to and compassion toward others – we are cold to them. Because we are so "busy," we don't take the time to listen to others. We assume we know what they are thinking, and make judgements based upon our assumptions. The common cold eventually destroys relationships.

Headaches

When we convince ourselves that we are "busy." our head begins to swim with confusion and yes, it may even hurt. We think we have so much to do and not nearly enough time. We attempt to multi-task, which is physically impossible. We can do only one thing at a time. When we choose to be "busy," we bounce back and forth between duties and projects and none of them are completed. Or they are not done well.

Heartaches

"Busy"-ness often leads to neglect, resentment, and apathy toward others, and especially to those closest to us – our life-partners, children, family, and friends. We tend to not treat them in a loving, caring way because we are too "busy." They may think you are a pain in the butt. That may be true and hearts ache and are being broken.

Dis-ease

Ease is a state of effortlessness and simplicity. In the state of ease, we experience love, joy, and happiness. "Busy"-ness creates dis-ease (lack of ease), and a state of hard work, struggle, and difficulty. In this state, we experience hurt, anger, fear, and sorrow.

With these things in mind, do you still want to be busy?

As usual, I have a challenge for you, if you choose to accept it. Don't get your shorts in a knot; there are only two things.

1. Give yourself a "busy-ectomy." Eliminate the word "busy" from your vocabulary (mentally and orally). Every time the "busy" thought enters your mind, or you start to say it, stop yourself. Instead say things like, "I've got some great projects on the go" or "I'm really enjoying the challenges in front of me" or "I have ample time to do the things I need to do."

2. Consciously notice the changes in how you feel, think, and act.

If you think you're too "busy" to accept my challenge, change your mind. Just as you chose to be "busy," you can choose another experience. At least notice how often the word "busy" is used by people around you, and be aware of how it affects them. Does it do the same for you?

In the past, I was so "busy" making a living that I didn't take time for a life. Since I eliminated "busy." I am more focussed, at ease, and productive. I find that I have oodles more fun making a living and having a life. I experience great pleasure, joy, and happiness in everything I do. Yup, everything. It is a choice I make.

Trash the "busy" badge, turn up the edges of your mouth, jiggle, chortle, snigger, bellow out a big "yahoo" and have fun!

Be Creative with Active Thought Processes

An Idea or Concept Perceived by Act May Be More Powerful Than One Created From Thought?
By Lance Winslow

Ideas, inventions, innovations and concepts are something that humans hold at a high value. Ideas or concepts that are perceived or born of an act or an event generally hold a more powerful imprint in the mind than a human idea or concept which is created from only a thought. This is due to the fact that humans tend to visualize ideas and concepts in their minds, thus if they see it or observe it, then it makes a more lasting impression.

This is not to say that ideas are not generated by pure thoughts, as we all know they are however when one experiences an event and observes it from a very personal level and then gets an idea from that event; perhaps the innovation is a different method of doing something, then that concept or idea will prove to be more powerful to them. This might propel their innovation and motivate them quicker than merely a thought that pops into their mind while thinking.

Indeed this might be a very good case for virtual reality experiences to help people get ideas or concepts by putting them into an experience and allowing them to observe something rather than going to the trouble to create a scenario or situation to get them into a mode of abstract thought which will be needed to create an idea or concept.

I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

Get Creative: Be a Genius

Fostering Creativity, Innovation and Geniuses in Our Society
By Lance Winslow

Is it possible to modify the way a society thinks about creative geniuses, invention and innovation to increase the sum total output of the civilization? I believe it is, do you want to know how I believe this can be done?

Well what if we could control free-flow enlightenment by minimizing the rules structures and using only a few rules for societies; it would mean fewer rules and a de-regulation with a more Isaac Asmiov type rule for Robots applied to the organic human models. 3-5 Rules and keep it simple.

In doing so you would spur on innovative thought and creative genius without teaching it, because rules seem to be a factor and a negative factor seems to be that of bureaucracy in human civilization. Rules and Regulations stifle innovation. You know the rule maker-rule breaker concepts.

Reducing the blob of over bearing rules will increase innovation, yet, we also know that high-populations create weird human behaviors and thus causing the need for more rules. Therefore I think population VS supply of human needs (Maslow’s List) would need to be considered too. This is to say if you really wish to fix the problem of lack of creative genius in the present period, we must continue with abundance and reduce rules.

Some people may not understand this principle, but it is a lot like reducing taxes. By reducing rules you free the creative mind and genius to invent, innovate and think. Therefore they are. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.

Time Management For Adults

ADHD and Time Management: Can they Co-Exist?
By Carrie Greene

A client of mine recently said to me "I have to work on my time management but I never get to it!" Does this sound familiar? Problems with time management seem to lie at the heart of the difficulties faced by many adults with ADHD.

Everyone has issues with time management especially when life gets busy, priorities conflict and we over commit, but people with ADHD tend to have more trouble with time management then people without. For many people with ADHD time is not something that can be accurately estimated or judged.

Whether you have ADHD or not, you will find that there are many benefits to being able to manage your time. When you are in control of your time you will find yourself more relaxed, you will be able to accomplish what you want to, know what tasks you need to do and be able to prioritize and not over commit yourself.

Since many people with ADHD have so much trouble understanding time and truly can not internalize how time works, how can someone with ADHD ever expect to be on time?

Here are some strategies:

  • Externalize time by creating visual, audible or tactile (sense of touch) cues.

  • Use a SINGLE calendar, whatever kind you like and always carry it with you.

  • Maintain a TASK list. It should include single actionable tasks not projects.

  • Always wear a watch and hang up analog clocks in your office and home. Analog clocks show the passage of time as well as what time it is.

  • Set your clocks accurately. If you insist on setting them ahead, make sure they are all set to the same time.

  • Give yourself more time to perform a task then you expect it to take.

  • Assume there will be traffic. Bring a book or something to do in case you are early.

  • Schedule time with yourself to DO the projects on your list, don’t just write down due dates.

  • Before you agree to take on a new task review what you have already committed to and decide if you can realistically add it to your load.

  • Instead of allowing a project to take a certain amount of time from you, decide how much time you are willing to give it. Empower yourself to control your projects and your time!

Being in charge of your time is very powerful. What is one thing you can do today that will take you one step closer to getting there?

Carrie Greene is and ADHD Coach and Professional Organizer. Carrie and her clients work on goal setting, time management, prioritization, getting organized and breaking up large projects into small manageable steps.

Carrie named her coaching business CarrieThru because that is what she helps you do. Carry through on the steps it takes to reach your goals.

Stress Relief - Get rid of it!

Kick Your Stress In The Butt!
By Michelle Armstrong

“Stress is the number one cause of death and disease in America”

Your body has a natural response to threats. If something dangerous is happening, your body will produce a chemical reaction to let you know that you need to run away or quickly react - the “fight or flight” response.

A long time ago the fight or flight response came in handy when we had to run from cheetahs, or protect our food source from a nearby tribe. Nowadays most of us experience the same fight or flight response when sitting in traffic, waiting at the bank, or having a heated conversation.

Any good health professional will tell you that a constant dumping of adrenaline or cortisol in the body in extremely damaging to the physical body. It can cause all sorts of health problems including physical dysfunction, sleep deprivation, brain fog, anxiety and depression to name just a few.

Today stress is also referred to as a “mental and emotional pressure”. In the context of imminent danger, stress acts as a protection mechanism which is a good thing, but too much stress in your life will most cause definitely physical and emotional harm.

Here are 10 action steps you can implement now to significantly reduce the stress in your life.

1. Eat for your body type and exercise regularly.

2. At least once a day, stop what you are doing and acknowledge all of the things in your life that you are grateful for. (Don’t knock it, till you try it. )

3. Each morning just as you wake and each night before you go to bed, do some deep breathing. Breathe in deeply for 4 counts, hold for 2 counts and exhale slooowly for 4 counts. Do 2 sets of 10 at least twice a day.

4. Chunk down your problems into bite size pieces. This will avoid overwhelm and you will be much more effective in finding solutions to your problems.

5. Don’t suppress your emotions. Avoid pushing your emotions down to fester and explode at some unknown time in the future. Be true to yourself. Recognize and accept your feelings. Don’t resist them.

6. Avoid alcohol, drugs, caffeine, too many sugars and any other harmful stimulants. These WILL increase the stressors in your body.

7. Meditate regularly. Research has shown that people who meditate have significantly less stressors in their life and are much more creative and effective under pressure.

8. Engage in activities that make you feel good like getting a full body massage, doing a Yoga class, taking a long soak in the tub or working out at the gym.

9. Develop Mindfulness and regularly reframe your thinking. Become the observer of your thoughts and direct your focus to find the silver linings. Regularly ask yourself ‘is my thinking aligned with a positive stress-free outcome? If not, change your thinking so it ALWAYS has a positive outcome.

10. Develop effective time management strategies. Set realistic time frames. Balance play with work. Make time for rest and relaxation. Under promise and over deliver so you don’t get overwhelmed.

Believe in What You Want And Achieve It

Believe It or Not
By Susan Russo

“The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.”

-Frank Lloyd Wright

Whatever you believe…..you’re right. Everything that happens in your life is happening for a reason— because of what you believe. Our beliefs have been ingrained in us from childhood. We are a product of what people have taught us along the way, beliefs about sex, love, friendship, religion, money and on and on.

Let’s take two different people, Joe and Mary. Joe was brought up to believe that people who were different from him were not to be trusted. If they had a different skin color, income, or nationality, he was taught to be very suspicious and un-accepting. On the other hand, Mary was brought up to accept people’s differences, compare and contrast unique cultures and form her opinions based on what she observed.

When Joe and Mary were out one day, they ran into a group of people who are traveling here from foreign countries, they where from Italy, Russia, Mexico and Egypt. Needless to say, the hair on the back of Joe’s neck stood up, whereas Mary was excited to talk to and learn about the different people. How Joe and Mary experienced this encounter, although diametrically opposed, was a product of their upbringing.

You can use similar examples to observe the beliefs of others and see how those beliefs affect their lives. Now, who was right, Joe or Mary? I personally lean more towards Mary’s outlook, but you can see why we all experience our circumstances based on what we were taught to believe. That is why it is so important to become introspective and analyze whether your beliefs serve you in becoming a better person or hinder you from reaching your potential.

As you look inside and evaluate what you believe, (not what you were convinced to believe), you can then form better options when you are dealing with circumstances that are a struggle or painful for you. The good news is; you can change your beliefs at any minute. You can choose to think new and improved thoughts that will help you begin to enjoy the life you want and to become the person you were destined to be.

Choose to believe in the best. Be your best, all day, every day. Our thoughts form our beliefs, so begin to be aware of what you tell yourself about any given situation and you will then be able to either keep the beliefs that benefit you in a positive way or choose to change your beliefs so that they are aligned with the way you want to live. Remember, you can have, be and do anything—if you believe it!

Times of Progress

Why Be Salt and Light ?
By John Urs

We live in a time of tremendous progress but in the same time of a tremendous moral degradation and ethical confusion. Today it is so difficult to make a distinction between right and wrong because the only moral bench-mark is the man itself and his selfish ideas.

You’ll say: “This is good, because this is a sign of a mature and free society.” In a way I can’t deny that, but unfortunately humanity proved more than once in her history that the humans can’t be objective and that’s why somebody’s freedom means somebody’s oppression and offence.

Jesus was the only one who declared the existence of an objective truth and this truth is God himself. That’s why we need to find answers for our life and behavior relating to this unchanging and objective truth.

When you’ll know the truth the truth will set you free and you’ll become more than what you'll ever imagine: the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

The purpose of salt is to stop the process of entropy, to preserve this earth and keep it morally clean and make it a nice home for our temporary travel. The purpose of light is to enlighten the human spirit to give the man the status he had before darkness started to take over his soul, and to make him a witness of the fact that the real light can’t be found in the darkness of this age but in Jesus.

In other words the purpose of this ministry is to help people like you to make a difference in your own life and the life of others.

So help us God!

Creative Perfectionism

Creative Perfectionism Is A Killer Disease: Here's The Miracle Cure
By Dan Goodwin

What is the one single thing that more than anything else stops us from creating?

The disease that kills creative projects dead, saps creative energy like a swamp full of starving leeches and can destroy a previously healthy and productive creative artist in hardly any time at all?

The answer is Creative Perfectionism, the quest for creative perfection.

So what do we mean by Creative Perfectionism?

Put simply, Creative Perfectionism is when we have already reached a very competent and perfectly acceptable stage with a creative project, but we’re still unhappy with it.

More than that, we become obsessed with finding the last tiny details that will make it “perfect”. So obsessed that we actually lose perspective, lose objectivity and become incapable of seeing actually how wonderful and how accomplished the creative work already is.

In searching frantically for that last 3% that we believe will make the work perfect, we become blind to the beautiful 97% that we’ve already accomplished and is already there.

But what’s at the heart of this behaviour?

It can be a number of different factors. We can find ourselves seeking Creative Perfectionism out of fear of not being taken seriously, fear of being seen as lazy or not passionate, fear that this is the only great idea we’ll ever have, fear that if we don’t finish this piece we’ll never finish anything in the future, and a whole host of others.

No doubt you can add your own versions and favourites to this list.

So what’s the cure? Is there any hope once we get this creativity killing disease?

Well, thankfully yes there is hope.

The cure is all about re-learning to let go when our creative work is “good enough”.

Now this doesn’t mean that we make any less effort in our creative projects or that we care less about them.

In fact the opposite is true - we actually care more

We care enough to want to finish the piece and let it go. We care enough to release it into the world where it can find an audience and inspire, delight and move other people. And we care enough to honour our ever evolving creativity and move on to the next creative project.

Over a fixed period of time, wouldn’t you rather have 3 wonderful pieces of creative art out in the world that people can admire and connect with, than one so-close-but-not-quite-perfect-enough-to-let-go-of-yet piece sitting in your room or in your studio or on your computer where no-one else can experience it?

Here’s the prescription for your medication

A great way to re-learn how to let go of our work is to produce some work as quickly as possible, and to lower the level at which we happily let it go.

As an exercise, make a deal with yourself that the next three creative projects you work on you’ll spend no more than 3 hours on. And, at that point, once the time is up, you’ll stop work and let it go, whatever stage it’s at.

Scary, huh? But we both know you can do it.

The outcome is not so important, it’s the process, and the letting go that’s important

Do this as often as you can, even if you spend more time in between on other creative projects. The object of the exercise is to make it easier to let the creative work go, and as a side effect of course it will increase your productivity.

Review after a few weeks or so and see how your ideas around Creative Perfectionism have changed.

You may find you still want to spend longer on larger projects, and continue to produce some quicker work in between. Or you may find that you’re able to produce these larger projects to a wonderful standard in much less time than ever before.

Either way, there’s so much to be learnt if you’re willing to try. So put that cure into action today and stop letting Creative Perfectionism kill YOUR creativity.

Love the laughs!

JUMPING ON THE BED

A fifty-ish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed and squealing with delight.

Her husband watches her for a while and asks, "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? What's the matter with you?"

The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says, "I don't care, I just came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old."

The husband said, "What did he say about your 56 year old ass?"

"Your name never came up," she replied.

Be mine Valentine

Don't forget to remember your someone special this year as Valentine's comes around. Send a card, send flowers, or send something special to celebrate your love for another!

Valentines Flowers Tips for Guys on the Go
By J. E. Williams

It's tough to be romantic when you're on the go, working 12 hours a day, and juggling mulitple priorities. No wonder that on a romance scale of 1 to 10, only 19% of women rate their boyfriend, husband, or significant other a 7 or higher. But, wait guys; there's help. Even if you're on the go, you can boost your romance quotient this Valentines. Here's how.

Don't fret about choosing the right gift.

Flowers are still the most desired gift from an admirer and to express love. They're personal, romantic, and according to researchers at Rutgers University, actually raise peoples spirits. In one study with 147 women of varying ages, those who received flowers smiled significantly more than those who received other gifts. Fresh, colorful flowers evoke happy feelings. Other studies indicate that flowers actually improve emotional health and make people feel more connected. According to professor Jeannette Haviland-Jones, PhD, "The phrase 'stop and smell the roses' may have a touch of genius in it."

Order early.

Sending Valentines flowers is fast and easy! There are wonderful local florists in virtually every town, as well as dozens of leading online florists that deliver nationwide. And, ordering only takes a few minutes. So, don't let your busy schedule get in the way. Just pick up the phone or shop online. But, remember, Valentines is the "Superbowl" of flower holidays, with five to ten times the normal volume of deliveries. So, for the best selection, service, and pricing, it's best to order early. You'll be glad you did.

Sending flowers to where she works?

That's a great idea. It can brighten her whole week, she'll be reminded of you every time she looks at them, and co-workers comments are a big plus, too. But, here's a helpful tip from Romeos in the know. With million of deliveries on Valentine's Day, flowers can arrive almost anytime. So, play it safe. Ask for delivery the day before Valentine's. That way your gift will be even more of a pleasant surprise and is sure to be enjoyed throughout all of Valentine's Day. In other words, you look like you were planning ahead and avoid any risk of your gift looking like a last-minute afterthought.

There's more to Valentines than just red roses.

While beautiful long-stem red roses are still the most popular Valentine's flower gift, there are lots of other options for every taste and budget. Many women prefer pretty pastel roses in pink, peach, yellow, or assorted spring colors. They can make you stand out from the crowd. And, almost half of all Valentine's bouquets aren't roses at all; they're lush mixed bouquets and spring flowers such as tulips. Choosing something unique can show you remember your sweetheart's favorite color or flower. Your favorite florist will have a great selection and can quickly help you with the best choice.

Remember flowers after Valentine's too.

What's the best way for a man to make a lasting impression on a woman? Research shows that the answer to making a memorable impact is right under his nose -- with flowers. Ninety-two percent of women can remember the last time they received flowers, and 89% agree that receiving flowers makes them feel special. “If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then the pathway to a woman’s heart is through her other senses,” says Rebecca Cole, of Discovery Channel’s Surprise By Design. “Flowers are a sensual gift that can express any emotion so simply - with just a little knowledge and a phone call to your florist.” And, flowers given for no special reason may be the most special of all. So, light a fire with flowers this Valentine's. And, keep it burning with a surprise gift of flowers anytime throughout the year.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine Party Ideas For Kids
By Susanne Myers

Valentine’s Day parties are becoming more popular every year, so why not have a valentine party or the kids this year. It’s a fun way to get them together in one big playdate. Valentine’s Day is about showing how much you like each other and kids should have a chance to show and tell their closest friends that they like them. Throw a little party with these Valentine party ideas for kids.

This party doesn’t have to be very involved. Just have your child invite a few close friends and have fun with it. Start by making some invitations with your child. You can use any commercial Valentine’s Day cards, or even better; make some with your child. Don’t forget to add the date and time and how long you expect the party to last on your invitation. A short little two-hour party works great for Valentine’s Day.

Next it’s time for decorations. You can get a red or pink plastic tablecloth at your local discount store. Then have your child trace heart shapes on construction paper in different shades of pink. The two of you can cut them out and scatter them over the table. You can also write each guests name on one and lay them on a paper plate as place cards.

Make some strawberry milk, or buy any red juice for a fun Valentine’s Day drink. Set out a few themed snacks, or make some cupcakes with pink frosting. Play some music your kids enjoy and they are sure to have a great time. You could also play the same types of games you do during a kid’s birthday party like musical chairs or charade.

Another great way to keep the kids entertained is to let them make a craft. Cut heart shapes out of hardboard or a heavy construction paper. Cut a small whole in the top part of the heart and thread a piece of ribbon through it. The kids can now decorate the heart shape with markers, stickers, glitter and shapes they cut out of different colors of construction paper. They can give the finished heart to a good friend or even mom. It also makes a cute Valentine’s Day decoration.

Of course a Valentine Party needs some yummy treats and snacks. Here are some great Valentine treat ideas at http://www.kinderinfo.com/articles/valentine-treat-idea.com

Hap Hap Happy New Year!

Ever wonder what happens on New Year's Even in the coolest home on the planet? Well, I'll tell ya!

The Coolest Mom on the planet fixed a nice dinner of Turkey Hash, Green Beans, and Cherry Cobbler and we settled into a snowbound night of tripping out on a movie from the cupboard, computer games, and watching the Christmas Tree lights blink. Laughter and fun was had by all, and I dosed off before midnight only to be awakened by a caller wishing me the Happiest of New Years. I'm not sure I even hung up the phone, I slipped back into lala land so fast. My kids were dancing around, giving me hugs and kisses, and I patiently and cordially slept right on through it all.

But, I do remember the kisses.

Exhaustion from a day of snow, writing, enjoying the fun of kids in the house for the 10th day running (yes, I send them out for sledding excursions, but it's cold in that thar snow - so they say) took it's toll and I crashed about 11:45, not one more minute could my eyes focus on anything.

Happy New Year!
